While the longer version of ALIENS has been re-released in various media formats, the master made and used for THIS release has a visual effects shot that was completed specifically for the release by visual effects artists Robert and Dennis Skotak. This specific shot, is of the Jorden tractor approaching the derelict ship (both are in the same shot). The completed shot has a pan in the shot, whereas the shot used in every other master is a static (non-moving) shot. I understand that this completed shot was desired for future masters, but not available. So the laserdisc is a unique cut with an effect finished specially for the release.
The insert included with the set is incorrectly folded. ALL of the sets have the insert folded in like a "C", whereas it was designed and intended to be a "Z" fold, just like how the insert in the ALIEN: Special Wide-Screen Collector's Edition is folded. So go fold yours into a "Z", and be sure to read the notes! |
